| One asparagus in olive oil
One marinated Italian mushroom
One kiss with the taste of Paris.
French bread resting
In its royal bed
Waiting for your fine fingers
To break it
To caress it.
Across the table you sat
The candle light in between us
Shadows and salad
Croutons made with herbs
And lots of love
Every byte a taste of you
Every slice your eyes
And then the crab
Being broken by my hands
Being sucked by my teeth
Powerful juices distilling aromas
Smell of sex and ocean
The smooth brie
Kissing the bread
Mediterranean green and dark olives
Probably picked on a sunny afternoon
By gentle arms
of unknown Greek girls
So you and I can lick them
While your eyes and mine talked
For an entire evening
Of tastes, smells and wonder

Abstract: Sometimes we discover in the pleasure of the senses
a spark of wonder in which everything seems to be extraordinary,
specially when two people connect deeply at a human level.
