| Some words about the liberation

Our goal is liberation, so the goal and the path are one.
Outside the path are the suffering of the mind and the pain
of the body.
When a person experiences suffering in his/her mind, or pain
in his/her body, then he/she has got lost from the path.
The path is liberation from experiences that limit. The path
awakens the consciousness.
Pursuing pleasure makes one lose the path, because pursuing
pleasure creates suffering in the mind; discontent, restlessness
and fear of losing. That is why liberation from the suffering
of the mind is not possible if liberation from the pain of the
body is considered as valuable as liberation from the suffering
of the mind.
The suffering of the mind is based on the meaning of life becoming
lost. The meaning of life cannot be larger than life, because
otherwise life could never fulfill its meaning. That is why the
suffering of the mind is based on illusion.
Consciousness grows beyond the limits of the illusion by opening
possibilities, by enriching the landscape that seems to be governed
by illusion.
The possibilities of the landscape extend greatly through liberating
others from bodily pain.
Liberating others from the suffering of the mind may be possible,
but it cannot be discussed in general terms, because it is so
unique. On the other hand there is a concept, which refers to
it: the concept of "sacred".
Epilogue
(written in Helsinki, 18.06.2000)
In certain times certain people experience in certain actions,
images and words "the presence of the sacred".
But that presence does not awaken as a passive accumulation
from the past - instead it is an active force, which draws human
intentions towards itself, towards such a future, which is experienced
as an ideal.
