"Today's picture" informally begun sometime in 2002.
At that time I was experimenting with my digicam which had become
a sort of "third eye".
I soon found I was living in a very surreal world and I couldn't
resist the temptation of sharing my views with friends so I
started sending pictures by e-mail.
My friends would not only reply with an occasional comment but
they would also send back their pictures, poems or thoughts somehow
related to the picture I had sent.
In june 2003 I decided to formalise this dialog by sending one
picture everyday....a picture taken that same day or the day before,
and when that would not be possible, I'd pick one from my own
files according to the mood of the day. The mailing list grew
and when we went over 50, I called my old pal Fernando, webmaster
at La Bisagra. Fernando not only answered my distress call but
he actually designed a whole system for sending Today's picture
to an unlimited number of subscribers.
In june last year we've made our first aniversary and this project
doesn't seem to slow down. On the contrary, it has become an
essential component of my daily life. I could say the same about
fernando who still is the one who actually sets everything up
every day so you can get your picture, rain or shine.
